Know before you go
All the planning notes →No water on most routes
Carry 2–3 L. The Gortsia ridge and the whole west side are dry; only the Enipeas gorge and the north side have reliable springs.
Afternoon storms, June–August
The plateau can go from 25 °C to hail in an hour. Start at first light and be off exposed ridges by 14:00.
Refuges are the only legal overnight
Free camping and campfires are banned in the national park. Book the plateau refuges weeks ahead for July and August.

EU-wide and works on any network. Coverage is patchy above 2,500 m, so tell somebody your plan before you start.
